Inspired by excavated hanging ornaments from the Jomon period, this piece features a simple elongated form that allows the natural beauty of the stone to take center stage. This piece was carved from naturally pressed jadeite, known in Japan as “Assaku Hisui” (圧搾翡翠). Pressed jadeite is formed under intense geological pressure over long periods of time, creating a dense internal structure and an exceptionally rich natural luster. The white jadeite base is interwoven with deep green to blackish-green areas, producing dramatic natural patterns formed entirely through geological processes. These organic markings give the stone a primitive and timeless atmosphere reminiscent of ancient Japanese artifacts. Its simple bar-shaped silhouette avoids unnecessary decoration, allowing the colors, patterns, and natural character of the jadeite to remain the main focus. Parts of the green areas show soft translucency. When illuminated, light passes gently through these sections, revealing subtle depth within the stone.
