The form is inspired by excavated animal-shaped MAGATAMA from ancient Japan. Its asymmetrical silhouette and expressive carving reflect the primitive and organic aesthetics found in archaeological pieces from the Jomon and Yayoi periods. This piece was carved from naturally pressed jadeite, known in Japan as “Assaku Hisui” (圧搾翡翠). Pressed jadeite is formed under intense geological pressure over long periods of time, creating a dense internal structure and a rich natural luster. Deep blackish-green jadeite contrasts beautifully with soft white jadeite, forming a striking natural pattern unique to this stone. These colors and textures were shaped entirely by nature over geological time, giving the piece a powerful yet organic character. The surface has been carefully polished to enhance the natural luster of the jade while preserving the individuality of the stone. Parts of the green areas show gentle translucency.
